Working session with ACCA and VACPA on training CerIFR coordination certificate

Towards the integration of ACCA-VACPA Coordination certificate training on International Financial Reporting Standards (CertIFR) for students majoring in Accounting, Faculty of Finance - Accounting, Lac Hong University had an exchange, worked with representatives of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA) on this issue on the morning of October 15, 2021.

Attending the meeting, on ACCA's side, there were Ms. Nguyen Thuy Minh Chau - ACCA Mekong Regional Director; On the VACPA side, there were Dr. Tran Khanh Lam - Vice Chairman cum General Secretary. From the Faculty of Finance - Accounting, Lac Hong University, there were the attendance of Dr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Acting Dean, Dr. Nguyen Van Hai - Vice Dean of Faculty and related units.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged basic information about CertIFR certificate - ACCA-VACPA joint certificate on International Financial Reporting. In March 2021, the Ministry of Finance announced the roadmap to apply International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Vietnam. Therefore, it is very important to train a team of accountants, auditors and financial professionals with sufficient knowledge and skills to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities IFRS offers. Representatives of ACCA and VACP expressed their desire to cooperate with the Faculty of Finance-Accounting, Lac Hong University, to support learning materials and implement this certificate training for students, faculty and staff. , contributing to the rapid and successful application of international financial reporting standards in Vietnam. Representatives of ACCA and VACPA also discussed with the University about models of CertIFR credit training organizations such as including certificates in training as an elective subject in the training program of the accounting profession to train students or certificate or training organization, etc.

Based on the content of the meeting, the Faculty of Finance - Accounting, Lac Hong University and related parties will continue to research and discuss cooperation, towards the goal of starting the implementation of the training plan in the near future.
