Faculty of Finance and Accounting – Spreading Love 2026 (Phase 1): Sharing Compassion, Extending the Spirit of Giving

The Mid-Autumn Festival becomes particularly meaningful when joy and compassion are shared with those in need. With the aim of providing both emotional encouragement and practical support to children facing disadvantaged circumstances, the Faculty of Finance and Accounting organized the community outreach program “Spreading Love 2026 – Phase 1” at the Phap Tuyen Pagoda Charity Class on the evening of September 25, 2026. Beyond offering tangible assistance, the program sought to foster a culture of compassion, social responsibility, and community engagement among faculty members and students.

To support the initiative, the Faculty of Finance and Accounting allocated VND 8 million to the preparation of gifts and program activities. The initiative also received generous contributions from faculty members, students, and benefactors, amounting to VND 18,968,000 in cash, together with notebooks, confectionery, and other essential items. Each contribution, whether material or non-material, reflected a shared commitment to providing the children with a warmer and more meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.

At the Phap Tuyen Pagoda Charity Class, the Organizing Committee presented 21 gift packages to 21 children facing particularly difficult circumstances. Each package was valued at VND 540,000, comprising essential goods worth VND 340,000 and VND 200,000 in cash. In addition, the Charity Class received VND 4,500,000 in financial assistance and essential supplies valued at VND 8,595,000, including rice, pens, and notebooks to support the children’s daily needs and educational activities. The Organizing Committee also prepared 140 confectionery gift packages for the children to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the event, 90 confectionery gift packages were presented directly to the children attending the program. Although modest in material value, these gifts embodied the care and goodwill of faculty members, students, and benefactors, contributing to a joyful and memorable Mid-Autumn Festival for the children.

Significantly, the spirit of sharing extended beyond the conclusion of the program at Phap Tuyen Pagoda. The remaining Mid-Autumn Festival gifts were subsequently delivered by Venerable Thich An Thuan, Abbot of Phap Tuyen Pagoda, teachers from the Charity Class, and representatives of the Executive Committees of the Youth Union and Student Association of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting to pediatric patients receiving treatment at Dong Nai Children’s Hospital. From the charity classroom to the hospital wards, these gifts continued to convey encouragement, compassion, and the festive spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival to children undergoing medical treatment.

The significance of a gift cannot always be measured by its monetary value. More importantly, it lies in the care, empathy, and sense of connection it represents, particularly for those experiencing challenging circumstances. The children’s smiles, together with the dedicated participation of faculty members, students, and benefactors, reflected the profound humanistic value of the program.

Through “Spreading Love 2026 – Phase 1,” the Faculty of Finance and Accounting aims not only to provide meaningful support to disadvantaged members of the community but also to create opportunities for students to engage in community service, strengthen their sense of social responsibility, and cultivate compassion. Each gift presented represents an act of sharing, while every smile received serves as further motivation to sustain and expand meaningful community engagement initiatives.

The Faculty of Finance and Accounting extends its sincere appreciation to faculty members, students, benefactors, Venerable Thich An Thuan – Abbot of Phap Tuyen Pagoda, and the teachers of the Phap Tuyen Pagoda Charity Class for their invaluable contributions and commitment to the success of the program. Their collective efforts have helped ensure that “Spreading Love” represents not merely the name of a community outreach initiative, but an enduring journey of connecting compassionate hearts and extending the spirit of sharing throughout the wider community.
