On March 21, 2026, LHU held an evaluation meeting to review its proposal to launch a new Industrial Management program, with enrollment expected to begin in the 2026-2027 academic year. The initiative aims to introduce a new training program that responds to the growing demand for professionals capable of managing production systems, optimizing operational processes, and bridging engineering expertise with business operations as Vietnam continues to accelerate industrialization and modernization.

LHU possessing strong related programs and resources to support the learning and practical training of Industrial Management students
In line with the evolving needs of modern enterprises, Industrial Management today extends beyond traditional production supervision. The field now encompasses supply chain management, quality management, data analysis, and the operation of smart manufacturing systems. As a result, demand for qualified professionals in this discipline is rising, particularly in key industrial regions.
The proposed Industrial Management program will be delivered by the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, which has nearly 30 years of experience in training engineering and technology programs at LHU. The Faculty has achieved notable success in international technology competitions such as the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest and Shell Eco-marathon Asia, as well as in autonomous vehicle research projects. In addition, the University currently offers related programs such as Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Business Administration, providing a strong interdisciplinary foundation for developing the Industrial Management curriculum.

A well-equipped system of laboratories enabling students to gain hands-on experience directly on campus
Speaking at the appraisal session, Associate Professor Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of LHU, noted that the program has been designed to integrate management knowledge with manufacturing technologies. Students will study production management, quality management, resource planning, and supply chain operations, equipping them with the ability to analyze processes, optimize operational systems, and maintain quality control within enterprises.
In terms of academic resources, the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics currently has a teaching staff that includes two associate professors, seven PhDs, one doctoral candidate, and fifteen master’s degree holders. Approximately 30 percent of the faculty members received their training abroad. Notably, many lecturers are also entrepreneurs or actively involved in managing industrial projects, which helps strengthen the program’s practical orientation.
The University also maintains a partnership network with more than 1,000 enterprises, enabling students to participate in internships, gain real-world experience, and access industrial working environments while still pursuing their studies.
