LHU students shine at 2024 International Student Chinese Storytelling Competition

3 students majoring in Chinese Language from LHU who are attending the 3+2 program at Ludong University have excellently won the Third prize at the 2nd International Student Chinese Storytelling Competition on "Enjoy Reading China" solemnly held on November 23, 2024 at the Center of International Teacher Education, Shanghai Normal University.

Accordingly, the 3 students including Ho Thi Bich Truc, Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu and Ho Thanh Ha surpassed 44 talented candidates from 17 prestigious universities across China in the final round to put their names on the roll of honor. With their confidence, courage and fluent Chinese language skills, combined with outstanding artistic performances, the three girls conquered the judges and left a lasting impression.

The International Student Chinese Storytelling Competition is an intellectual and cultural playground jointly organized by the National Language and Script Promotion Foundation, Shanghai Universities Alliance for Language and Script Development, and Shanghai Normal University. This is a nationwide competition, aiming at telling China's good stories, spreading China's voice to the world, while improving the Chinese language proficiency and expression ability for international students. This year's competition attracted the participation of more than 200 students from 43 countries representing 45 universities across China.

The final round comprised two parts: individual and team. All contestants were comprehensively evaluated based on criteria: theme, performance effects, and aesthetic artistry. 6 best teams and 15 outstanding individuals were selected for the finals for the first, second, third places, and among others.

This proud achievement once again affirms the Chinese Language Department's training quality at LHU - the first university-level Chinese language training facility in Dong Nai province. During its 22 years of foundation and development, the Department of Chinese Language has achieved numerous outstanding achievements. Its students have consistently achieved impressive success in domestic and international specialized competitions such as 3 Third prizes in the "Chinese Bridge" World Student Competition in 2019, 2020, 2024; Third prize in the National Chinese Speech Contest - Da Nang 2024; First prize in the "Wo ke yi" national competition in 2013,...

Students of the Chinese Language Department have recently had precious opportunities to participate in student exchange programs and summer internships in China with many valuable scholarships. Hundreds of students have had the opportunity to experience local culture and language through study-abroad programs in Guilin, Fujian, Shandong, Wuhan, and Taiwan. Notably, in 2024, 10 students have received full scholarships for the 3+2 program at Ludong University in Shandong Province, China.

Once again, congratulations to the three talented girls Ho Thi Bich Truc, Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu and Ho Thanh Ha! Wishing them continued success and achievement in all their future endeavors!
