Mental health support

FOR STUDENTS

I. STUDENT PSYCHOLOGICAL INTAKE AND COUNSELING PROCESS

Lac Hong University has established a comprehensive Student Psychological Intake and Counseling Process, annually reviewed and updated by the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance, and the Board of Rectorates.

The process includes clear procedures and standardized forms to ensure effective case management and confidentiality, such as:

  • BMO01: Student Psychological Counseling Request Form

  • BMO02: Student Psychological Test Form

  • BMO03: DASS Psychological Assessment Scale Conversion

  • BMO04: Psychological Case Referral Form

  • BMO05: Counseling Report Form

This ensures that every student in need of support is properly assessed, referred, and followed up by qualified staff.

II. Psychological Counseling Unit and Capacity Building

The LHU Psychological Counseling Team, located on campus 2, provides free, direct, and confidential counseling services for students.

To strengthen counselor capacity, the team cooperated with Minh Tri Mental Health Clinic to organize a Training Course on School Psychological Counseling, focusing on:

  • Counseling process and case management;

  • Basic psychological knowledge;

  • Core counseling and intervention skills (questioning, feedback, handling silence, empathy, etc.);

🕓 Duration: 3–6 months (1 session/week, Tuesday afternoons)
👥 Participants: 5–10 counselors (priority for early registration)
📜 Certification: Participants receive certificates upon completion.

III. Mental Health Screening Survey

The Office of Student Affairs conducts anonymous mental health screening surveys using the DASS-21 self-assessment test via QR code.
Each student receives their confidential results within one week.
This initiative helps identify students at risk and enables early intervention by the counseling team.
